Soon, a demand to start producing fuel chips in addition to mulching led him to purchase a Morbark whole tree drum chipper-and the rest is history.Brian Calhoun started with a Morbark 1300 Tub Grinder after purchasing an existing mulching company. Soon after he began working with loggers in his local area of Alberta, VA harvesting the byproducts of timber to produce mulch. As the demand for his business grew he began logging himself, selling both timber and mulch.

His business would continue to expand after a demand for fuel chips in the area from Dominion Power Company came into play. Calhoun made a choice to begin chipping and began to replace some of his grinders with drum chippers. Today, Calhoun Mulch and Timber currently operate three Morbark 6600 horizontal grinders and five 50/48 Morbark whole tree drum chippers.

What keeps them coming back to Morbark? "We're looking for robust, durable equipment and minimal downtime. With Morbark it's the total package. It's the resources they provide whether we need technical support, service or parts support, and just the open communication we have with them."

Waller is no stranger to the Morbark product line, having previously served as Sales Representative for Morbark’s Industrial Line for many years. “Brian has continued to scale his operation to the impressive size it is today, and each step of the way Morbark has been there to help him succeed in taking his business to the next level.
