The Log Debarking Apparatus invented and patented by Nub and Robert Baker, results in the founding of the Morbark Portable Debarker Company, the predecessor of Morbark, LLC. The debarkers sold for $3,3450!
Morbark starts to manufacture log debarkers for sawmills. In 1961, orders for nearly 300 machines produce $2 million in gross sales. In 1969 the Morbark Chip-Pac comes to market and is named a Michigan Product of the Year.
Dutch Elm disease kills millions of urban trees. In response, Morbark creates the first portable whole tree chipper in 1972, known as the Metro Chipper.
The whole tree chipper is downsized leading to the introduction of the first disc-style brush chipper with hydraulic feed - the "Eeger Beever."
The 90s began with the introduction of the Industrial Tub Grinder followed by the Horizontal Grinder. A series of expansion nearly doubles Morbark's plant to 1.2 million square feet.
Morbark's stump grinder line is introduced in 2005. In 2006, ground is broken for Morbark's new corporate office. Morbark parts and equipment sales reach the $100 million mark.
Morbark makes its first acquisition of Boxer from Mertz Manufacturing in 2012. In 2016, the Morbark family sells to Stellex Capital.
Morbark acquires Rayco Manufacturing, in Wooster, Ohio in 2017, and Denis Cimaf located in Roxton Falls, Quebec in 2018. In 2018, Rayco introduces the RG55, RG80, and RG165.
Acquired in 2019, the acquisition of Morbark, and its affiliate brands Boxer, Denis Cimaf, and Rayco. It is Alamo's largest acquisition to date. Alamo focuses on making improvements in all areas of manufacturing.
Timberwolf will now be able to further strengthen its brand and market position by strengthening product innovation. The company wasted no time in introduces their TW 280HB Hybrid Wood Chipper in September 2022. These chippers will be marketed by Morbark and its dealer network by Q4 2024.
Morbark introduced the Next Gen 6400XT at the 2023 ConExpo in Las Vegas. Equipped with independent air-ride suspension and remote-controlled front and rear hydraulic locks, a single operator can attach the transport in minutes, eliminating the need for a specialized low-boy trailer.
The BVR line of brush chippers builds upon the legacy of Morbark's innovation in the tree care industry through an updated modular design. The complete line of BVR chippers includes the BVR 10, BVR 13, BVR 16, BVR 19, and BVR 22 and features chipping capacities from 12 to 20 inches. The new configuration of the brush chipper line streamlines the equipment's overall upkeep and maintenance routine, reducing customer downtime and increasing overall productivity.
