Morbark and the Community

Morbark does many things to give back to the local community. Through the years the company has contributed to a number of different programs. Below is a list of the programs Morbark is currently involved with.
Red Cross Blood Drive

Every spring Morbark employees join together to donate blood to those in need. Dozens of employees not only give blood but also volunteer at the community center to assist in the process.

United Way Campaign - The month of November kicks off the annual United Way campaign encouraging employees to make a monetary donation towards a charity of their choice. The company matches half of what the employees contribute making for a very successful campaign. Thanks to the generosity of the workers Morbark has always reached its goal and in the past ten years has exceeded their goal.

Toys for Tots - Christmas always brings out the best in people. The Toys for Tots program is so popular that the toy barrels have to be emptied several times during the month span they are located at the Morbark factory.

Post 9/11 - After the World Trade Center attack Morbark announced that they would match the contributions of any employee to applicable charities for six weeks. That drive was very successful.

Winn Clean-up Days

Winn Clean-up Days - In years past Morbark has put its brush chippers in action to clean up the town of Winn. Tree branches, yard waste, brush and clippings are all disposed of free of charge. In the past, metal, trash and even appliances have also been collected by employee volunteers and disposed of.

Troop Sponsorship - Morbark has twice sponsored the 980th Quartermaster Company, an army reserve unit based out of Bay City, Michigan. The 980th, a unique support unit trained to provide supplies, transport gasoline, and purify water, most recently served in Iraq from December 2004 - November 2005. For the duration of their tour of duty, Morbark employees donated items to these men and women. In addition, Morbark paid for the postage to ship the packages to the soldiers. What did the troops think about this? “I want everyone there to know that it is people like them that make the U.S. the greatest country on earth,” wrote the 980th. “You are also the reason we are proud to serve our great nation. Thank you."
